Little aim of mine

 Suddenly
wish to write a post in English. This might be able to help me to brush up my
English. J
Recently, I got a little aim. I wish to use this opportunity (my long holiday)
to improve my English vocabulary and also grammar. If not mistaken, since 1st
or 2nd semester in University, I seldom got the chances to write in
English. Not included those sms and also email that didn’t require proper
English.

When I practicing writing essays, I realize
that I am really too use to those abbreviations. My fingers will automatically
type those abbreviations without any hesitation. For example, you= u, phone=fon
and many more. What a bad habit. Have to stop this as soon as possible.

To help to achieve this little aim,
I had ordered reader digest, news week and also traveler digest for 1 year. All
together cost me RM 365. Is this worth? Ha, I am not sure. I hope it is. But
it’s really a good way to push me to read more articles. This is because they
come too frequently. For example, last week’s Newsweek I haven’t finished yet,
today I receive another Newsweek already. My goodness! That’s mean I have to
finish one magazine in a week and also reader’s digest that come monthly. This
is a torturing task right? But it is better than I always spend my time on
those drama seriesJ

Alright, I’ll end here and going to
read my Newsweek. :D

Okay, now that I’ve to say, reading a weekly or monthly publication is nothing compared to the hundreds pages of newspaper everyday.
But you know what? It is really good that you have the determination to improve your English. I actually salute your life-long learning spirit although the fact is that you had graduated. It is very hard to meet people of this kind nowadays.
Polishing English is not a day’s work. You are only going to succeed if you put in your 100% effort. Good luck!

we can’t simply remember a new vocabulary just by lookiing at the dictionary one time. Learning language takes time, not to say to master it.

My tuition teacher once asked me to search the dictionary only after a few times I come across that word. It could be useful at the first stage. However to really enrich your vocabulary, more effort is needed.

I expect you to be consistent, and don’t give up so easily. Remember, to master a language takes time, just hang on and you will enjoy the fruit.
